Work Force Disruption FAQs
As of June 10th, 2025
When is the Minnesota Work Force Disruption (WFD, aka Strike)?
Sometime after June 10th, 2025. There will be a 10 day notice.
How long is the WFD?
Can we do half shifts? Will it be nights or days?
Where will we stay?
You will be staying in a hotel arranged and provided by the designated Logistics Team. At this time, single occupancy rooms are being offered. You will need a credit card for your room damage deposit as each hotel requires it.
When do I need to be there?
There will be a 10 day official notice. Once the “Call to Travel Day” is officially known, typically, you have to be there 24-48 hours before the actual first day for processing and orientation known as ‘Day 1 travel’.
Where do I report to?
SojouRN is in partnership with Aya but you will report to a SojouRN designated location.
There will be Aya designations in the airports and hotels to check in. Because of the massive logistics needed to maintain continuity, Facilities have decided to use one vendor for transportation and housing.
Is travel to and from covered?
Yes! Travel logistics will be arranged through the Aya logistics team. We strongly recommend flying (flights will be booked round trip from the same location). Pick up and drop off will be arranged to and from hotels and facilities. You are responsible for getting to and from your home airport. If you are driving, mileage will not be reimbursed at this time.
Is my MN license reimbursed or other expenses?
Yes, upon completion of a successful WFD assignment, your MN license will be reimbursed. At this time, only MN licenses will be reimbursed.
What do I wear?
Plain scrubs, comfortable shoes.
Are the hours guaranteed?
Currently the estimated guaranteed hours are 36 hrs plus Orientation.
Can I switch to your company if I’m already working the WFD with another?
No, we want to encourage you to stay with any company you have signed on with to maintain accuracy of overall staffing numbers. If you have signed up for another company and try to sign up with SojouRN, you may lose your placement.
What is the most important part of working a WFD?
To remain flexible with plans, work environment adjustments, shift flexibility, travel flexibility, and to remember that we are there to help the facilities fill whatever need will produce the highest patient and nurse safety as possible throughout the disruption.
