Medical Assistant Needed. $22/hr Part-time at 20hrs/week
Department of Equity and Inclusion for Children’s Hospital mainly working on the mobile clinic at community vaccine clinics
(hosted at local elementary schools)
FTE: 0.5
Shift : Days/Eves, variable shift lengths.
The Medical Assistant role will provide professional family-centered care to infants, children, and adolescents as delegated by
a provider or RN
Escort patients to the exam room and appropriate documentation information
Prepare and administer medications and injections as directed by clinician
Perform an assist procedures and treatments as directed by clinician, such as; Administering hearing slash vision tests, rapid strep testing, nebulizer treatments and urine catheterizations.
Perform laboratory specimen collection and processing to ensure accurate and appropriate performance of patient testing while maintaining patient dignity, comfort and confidentiality.
Maintain knowledge of, and comply with, all relevant laws, regulations and policies, procedures and standards.
Qualifications:
Required:
High school diploma or equivalent
Completion of an accredited medical assistant program or completion of an LPN or RN program.
Preferred:
One year experience in a clinic setting or completion of medical assistant externship at a children’s clinic
Pediatric experience
Knowledge / skills / abilities:
Phlebotomy and basic laboratory skills
License and certifications:
Current basic life support (BLS)
